Easter at Ormesby Hall
There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained this Easter at Ormesby Hall. With spring awakening there's lots of wildlife and nature to see too. Easter is has arrived.
After you have completed the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt you can have a go at one of the activites below and play in the garden and follow the signs of spring trail.
Sunday 1 - Monday 2 April: Make a bunny or chick mask in the family room crafts area (self-led)
Tuesday 3 - Thursday 5 April, 12.30 - 2.30pm: Egg decorating (50p cost for materials)
Monday 9 - Thursday 12 April, 12.30 - 1.30pm: Wildflower meadow planting
Find the signs of spring
Pick up the spring trail from the egg hunt gazebo and discover the nature residing at Ormesby Hall. Whether you love daffodils, squirrels or blue tits at springtime, see what you can spot when you visit this Easter.
While the Cadbury bunny was hiding his clues for the Cadbury Egg Hunt around the garden, the Easter chicks have wandered off to peek inside the house so see how many you can find in the Victorian Kitchen. Then in the mansion can you spot the animals hiding up high?
In addition to the Cadbury Egg Hunt, there's always plenty to see and do at Ormesby Hall for families.
You can pick up a free ‘50 things to do before you're 11 ¾’ scrapbook from the admission point on arrival and get started on your family adventure. How many things you can tick off in one day at Ormesby Hall?
Be fascinated by the miniature world of model railways at the three permanent layouts, including an interactive Thomas the Tank Engine layout. Then in the Victorian laundry children can get dressed up and have a go at some scrubbing to experience the life of a servant.
Outside have fun with the garden games and enjoy a game of croquet, then visit the natural play area to practice balancing on the wooden stumps and rope. Need some shelter? Can you build yourself a den in the natural play area and make a tasty meal in the mud pie kitchen.
If you would like to bring a family picnic then there are plenty of spots in the garden to relax and enjoy it, with new picnic benches in the natural play area. Or you can pop into our tea-room to treat yourself to a hot panini or an afternoon treat of cakes and scones. Children's lunch boxes are available.
Normal admission applies to visit Ormesby Hall and garden and to access all events, including the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt - advance booking is not needed. You will need to show your admission ticket or membership card in the garden before purchasing the egg hunt. Cost of the egg hunt is £2.00 per person.
