Father Christmas is back

It wouldn’t be Christmas without Father Christmas! The great man has once again promised to make Oxburgh his home for two very special weekends this year (8, 9, 15, 16 December). His elves will be decorating the King’s Room and transforming it into a wintery grotto especially for the occasion*.

Downstairs, the house** will be dressed for a Victorian family Christmas with stunning seasonal floral displays. Why not sneak a kiss with a loved one under the mistletoe? Be welcomed into the home by the 6th Baronet (the Victorian lord of the manor) and his family and servants and discover how they celebrated this magical time of year.

To really get you into the spirit, our volunteer choir will be singing traditional Christmas Carols in the very atmospheric family chapel. Why not come and sing along with us to 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'?

A Victorian Christmas - meet the family

The house is always impressive but still maintains a cosy family charm, perfect for this time of year to get you in the festive mood. We have a huge Christmas tree in the Saloon to admire, and as the sun goes down, wander outside and admire the Hall lit up with external lighting, and outdoor Christmas trees. Magical.
