Month of May means more at Oxburgh Hall

There's lots to see and do indoors and out this May at Oxburgh Hall. We'll be finishing off our spring clean indoors, adding new tapestries and helping you venture outdoors ready for the start of the summer, with some fun family events.

There's so much going on this May at Oxburgh Hall, indoors and around the estate. If you are a busy family looking for something to do, or an historic home officianado, Oxburgh has the answer.

Bat Walk

When the lights go out, the bats come out! On 12th May we'll be holding a special evening about the world of the bat. After a guest lecture by the National Trust's bat expert, you'll be taken on a guided walk around the estate to search for our nocturnal friends. This is a bookable event. See our What's On page for more details.

The Big Chandelier Clean

A lot of work goes behind making our stunning chandelier in the Saloon look show ready. Almost 2000 crystals need to be hand polished every year, and is the event that rounds off our spring clean. Over 2 days (15 - 16 May) we'll be lowering the chandelier and hand cleaning each crystal. Come and see how we do it and chat with our volunteers and staff. See our What's On page for more details.

What Lies Beneath...

All sorts lurks in the watery underworld at Oxburgh. On 31st May drop in between 1pm-3pm and find out what wee beasties you can find beneath the surface of Oxburgh's moat or river network. See our What's On page for more details.

We're looking forward to...

More original King's Room tapestries will be recreated and hung at some point towards the end of May. Three have already been created and hung, and a further two have almost been completed! Keep up to date on our Twitter and Facebook pages.

Don't forget

Every day our outdoor games area available, from Jenga to Chess, we've got games to enjoy while you catch the sun. There are children's trails to keep the little ones occupied, and a tea room to relax in after all the excitement. Our four legged friends can bring their responsible adults too.
