Food for the garden

Working well together

The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust had an enormous pile of manure which they needed to find a home for, which is wonderful as it's of huge benefit to the garden.

Some of the Teign Valley rangers came to Parke for the day and helped move several tons of manure to both entrances of the walled garden.

So, over the last couple of weeks, Bovey Community Gardeners and National Trust volunteers have been taking it in turns to spread the manure around the cut flower beds, walled fruit and vegetable patch.

Look out for bumper crops this year, as a result of all their hard work and all the nutrients going back into the soil.
