Cranberry sauce

A sweet and delicious cranberry sauce that you can try making as the perfect condiment to go with your festive turkey.

Roast turkey with cranberries
  • Preparation time 10 minutes (prep. time)
  • Cooking time 20 minutes (cooking time)
  • Serves 8


  • 500g cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 150g sugar
  • 1 small orange, juice and zest
  • 2 tablespoons port (optional)


  1. Wash cranberries and place in a pan with orange zest and juice
  2. Add sugar and heat gently until sugar is dissolved. Add port and gradually bring to a boil
  3. Cook for 5-10 minutes until thickened
  4. Pour into sterilised jars and cover with jam pot covers
  5. Serve with turkey or cold meats
  6. Delicious with soft cheese as a starter
