Christmas at Scotney Castle

This Christmas there is something for everyone at Scotney Castle. Join us for storytelling with Father Christmas or a personal meet and greet, family festive trails, a Victorian Christmas in the mansion house, crowd-free Christmas shopping, carol singing and delicious Christmas lunches.

Christmas preparations at Scotney Castle

Take a sneak peek at the house team preparing the mansion for Christmas. It took a full week to dress the trees, lay the table and arrange the toys and now you can come and see the finished result for yourself.

This Christmas enter a Victorian Christmas as the Hussey Family would have enjoyed, with traditional decorations, twinkling lights on festive trees and toys to enjoy within the house. Why not join us for a delicious festive lunch in our tea-room, or enjoy a hot chocolate and mince pie after a stroll around the garden?

If you are visiting with children, they can complete our festive Noah's ark trail in the garden, visit Father Christmas for storytelling in the mansion or arrange for a personal meet and greet with the big man himself. Make sure you wrap up warm for a visit to our children's play area which will be open all winter.  Or if you're looking for a relaxed Christmas day out with friends, plan a weekday visit to enjoy a two or three course Christmas lunch in the tea-room.

There are plenty of options available in our tea-room, from light snacks, hot meals or just mince pies. We have got plenty of indoor seating and a cosy log burner to warm you up after your visit to the garden. If you are looking for something more traditional you can book a two or three course Christmas lunch on our tea-room between 25 November and 20 December (Monday-Friday only).
