Spring at Seaton Delaval Hall

Spring blooms in the gardens at Seaton Delaval Hall, Northumberland

Join us for new adventures as the first signs of spring make their appearance at Seaton Delaval Hall.

As winter gives way to spring the wild Northumbrian landscape softens as pockets of snowdrops start to appear throughout the landscape.

Spring also sees the reopening of the West Wing for our main season.  The house team have spent the winter doing painstaking cleaning and maintenance on our collections and it’s time for you to see them at their best.

Crisp, sunny days provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll around the grounds, taking in our historic Van Sion variety of daffodils throughout March.  These give way to carpets of beautiful blues when the bluebells start to appear in April and May as the weather warms up.  If you’re feeling more adventurous, download or pick up a map of one of our wider estate walks from our Visitor Welcome team.  These longer walks take in the surrounding landscape, drawing you down towards Seaton Sluice and the sea or up towards Seaton Delaval village.

If the exertion is a little too much or you just want to recharge your batteries, visit Margaret and the team in the East Wing café for a warming drink, soup or a snack... They’ll throw in a chat for free!

Spring also sees the start of a season packed full of events, including our birdsong trail during the Easter holidays and activities during the May bank holidays.
