Make 2016 your year to start volunteering

Children enjoying an educational activity.

Volunteering at Sheringham Park can be a fun and rewarding experience helping us conserve a landscape that its designer Humphry Repton described as having more natural beauty and local advantages, then any place he had ever seen. So we'd love you come and join us on either Tuesday 2nd or Saturday 6th February to find out more about our volunteering opportunities for 2016.

The day will commence at 10.30am with refreshments followed by a walk around the wild garden. You'll get a chance to have a chat with staff from various departments around the estate, who will talk about their roles at Sheringham.

We currently have vacancies in the following areas

Visitor Services

This is wide ranging role meeting and greeting our visitors, processing retail sales and being available to deal with enquires on the wider estate. If you enjoy meeting people and are comfortable dealing with money this could be the role for you.

Education Department

Inspiring the next generation is important to us.  We play host to over 5000 education visitors each year from local schools and community groups – running interactive sessions exploring nature.  Many of our activities are linked to our ’50 things to do before you’re 113/4’ campaign and we also run events for families throughout the year.  If you love the natural world and can communicate your enthusiasm to children, this could be the role for you.  This role is subject to a DBS (Criminal Records Bureau) check.

Our learning officer would not be able to deliver our parents and toddlers group without volunteer support

If would like to come along please email us so we can ensure we have enough tea and biscuits available.
