Summer holiday fun at Sheringham Park
Take a walk through the wild garden with its impressive viewing towers, explore the different habitats throughout the 1,000 acre estate and enjoy a range of events and activities. Whatever your children are interested in, you’ll find plenty of ways to inspire their natural curiosity at Sheringham Park this summer.
‘50 things to do’ Fridays
Are you ready to try out 50 of the wildest and most exciting things to do outdoors this summer? Join us on Fridays in August for a different activity as we help you complete the '50 things to do before you are 11 ¾’.
Meet at the visitor centre, where you can pick up a ‘50 things’ guide and get involved in pond dipping, den building, bug hunting and creating wild art! Activities take place in the Bower between 10:30am-12:30pm, and 2pm-4pm.
Visit our events page to find out what’s on each week.
The Jungle Book
Tuesday 20 August, 6.25pm-9pm
Join Mowgli, Baloo, the fierce some Shere Kahn and other characters in this thrilling new interpretation for all the family. The show features puppets, colourful characters, audience interaction and all the comedy and fun that has defined Strange Fascination over the past five years.
Bring a picnic and enjoy the adventure this summer – perfect entertainment for young and old alike!
Explore the world of bats as we take a stroll through the Park as night falls. Learn about these fascinating mammals and listen to them with the help of a bat detector.
Join us as we go in search of Britain's only venomous snake – the adder! Tracking wild animals is one of the ‘50 things to do before you're 11 ¾’! Adders are shy, but we know of some places in the Park where they can be seen… if we are lucky!
Family forage days
Family events exploring the wild plants growing in the Park that you can (and can’t!) eat. Foraging for food is one of the ‘50 things to do before you are 11 ¾’! We will do a ‘bush tucker trial’ and then venture out into the Park looking for 'food for free'.
Thursday 29 August 2019, 7pm-9:30pm
A family event exploring the twilight world of owls. We will dissect an owl pellet to see what owls eat and learn to call like an owl. Then we'll venture out as dusk falls to listen for Tawny Owls, which are particularly active at this time of year. Going on a nature walk at night and discovering wild animal clues are two of the ‘50 things to do before you're 11 and ¾’!
Rock pool ranger days
Join us as we look for the incredible creatures that can be found living on (and in) the beach. Checking out the crazy creatures in a rock pool, catching a fish with a net and catching crabs are three of the ‘50 things to do before you're 11 and ¾’!
Starting at Sheringham seafront we will explore the tidal pools and beach to find some amazing marine life. We will be digging for worms, netting for shrimps and catching crabs!
