Bugborough

Thomas Anson’s vision of creating a ‘perfect paradise’ at Shugborough inspired our self-built Bugborough.

Between the Walled Garden and Explorers’ Wood you’ll find a homely space created for the estate’s wildlife. A chain of bug hotels have been built by our visitors, each influenced by the architectural features of the estate’s monuments and buildings. Only natural or recycled material can be found here and the hotels are designed to attract a slightly different range of insects.

Pop in to Bugborough and search for some of the smallest creatures who call this estate their home.

Given the nature of the site there will be more opportunities for families to maintain and build homes for bugs; keep an eye on our events page for a chance to get creative and muck in.
