Keith Brymer Jones

Keith Brymer Jones

Many people know him as a judge on TV shows like 'The Great Pottery Throw Down' & 'The Victorian House of Arts and Crafts' but his ‘real job’, and passion, is ceramics.

Taking inspiration from the Arts and Crafts Dining Room and the collection within, Keith is throwing a bespoke 16-piece dinner service for the Dining Room at Standen which will be on display for the duration of ‘The Joy is in the Making’.

" Is there a strong link between doing something creative and emotions? I would say that was the definition of creativity. It’s not even a strong link. They run together."
- Keith Brymer-Jones

Keith is filming the process of himself handmaking the dinner set recording the way that he feels during the process. This film will be projected in to the Dining Room so that visitors can feel a real connection with the joy of the process of making with clay.
