There is so much to see and do at Standen this autumn. Take a walk through the woods and crunch the autumn leaves, have fun on the children's October half-term trail, and try the produce from the Kitchen Garden on our tasting days.

Take a walk in the crisp autumn air and admire the display of red and gold acers across the garden, with Mrs Beale’s original specimens still growing strong.

An exciting exhibition at Standen House & Garden explores the inspiration behind the works of William Morris, a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement. From Saturday 1 June until Sunday 10 November 2019.

Calling all budding photographers! This outdoor photography workshop, led by Roger Bloxham, is a perfect opportunity to learn how to capture the beautiful autumn colour in Standen's garden. Thu 10 & Tue 15 Oct, 8am-3pm. £55 per person. 8am-3pm. Booking essential on 01342 323029.

Tower tours

Take a weekday tour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Standen in autumn. Admire the view across the Sussex countryside and marvel at the different perspective of the house architecture. Please note tours only occur once the bats are no longer roosting in the tower and are subject to availability. Designer Will Shannon used Arts & Crafts principles of using local materials and traditional handcrafted skills to make 'Bothy'. Stop for a while as you walk round the garden to discover this small folly like space.
