An autumn of 50 Things

With its winding paths and a wooden lizard hidden in the trees, the gardens at Stoneywell have provided the backdrop for excitement and adventure for generations. The cottage, too, offers fun for the whole family as you reminisce over a past childhood with our collection of period toys and games. This autumn embark on your own adventure of '50 things to do before you're 11¾', and have fun outdoors in the process!

Warm yourself by the campfire during the school holidays: help us build the fire before enjoying bonfire treats and storytelling.

Have fun with 50 things whatever the weather - come to Stoneywell to run around in the rain, or when the weather's nice, go on a walk barefoot across the grass.

From hunting for bugs and bird watching to making a trail with sticks, you can tick off many of the '50 things' at Stoneywell. You can also catch a fallen leaf from one of the many trees in the woods, discover what's in a pond (or, rather, the plunge pool) and walk barefoot across the grass.

Explore the cottage

Have fun with the family whenever you visit. Keep an eye out for bull horns over the fireplace and set the train on its tracks upstairs. In the Stables, delve into our 1950s prop box to discover what life was like 60 years ago, Don't miss our special events throughout the year, including a range of exciting trails and hands-on activities.
