Christmas shopping season at Stowe
Wow what a great Christmas we enjoyed in 2019. Please come back to this article in autumn 2020 to see what we have planned for next Christmas. If the thought of battling the busy high street leaves you cold and clicking on a keyboard to buy treasured gifts for your loved ones seems a little clinical, come and enjoy your Christmas shopping at Stowe.
From 18 November to 22 December, the historic Parlour Rooms will be filled with the warmth and chatter of local artisans, artists and hand-made food producers. The stallholders will switch every few days, selling their hand-made cards, door garlands, cushions, scented candles, chutneys, chocolates and liqueurs.
There’s even a stall-holder selling dog accessories – which is perfect, as dogs are welcome in the Parlour Rooms. You could let them choose their own gift before heading out on a walk around the garden.
Nestled in the Parlour Rooms is our recently opened Old Dairy Bookshop selling second-hand books. Browse through the Christmas selection and kids genres to build your own mini advent calendar of mini-gifts that keep giving the gift of reading throughout the year.
And if you don’t find what you’re looking for in the Parlour Rooms, there’s always the National Trust shop filled with Christmas gifts inspired by our special places.
If you’re coming to shop mid-week, make an occasion of it and book a Christmas lunch in the cafe.
