2018 Workshops at Sunnycroft
Thread through history with our workshops this year at Sunnycroft
Here at Sunnycroft we are carrying on the traditions of Joan Lander, follow in her embroidery footsteps with a series of workshops.
Who’s Joan Lander?
Joan was the last person to live at Sunnycroft before the house bequeathed to the National Trust in 1997. She started working as a Red Cross nurse during the Second World War. When ill-health forced Joan to give up her medical work, she joined the Royal School of Needlework in 1949. Her embroidery highlights include working on the Queen’s coronation robe, amongst other robes, alter frontals and banners.
