Everyone can make a difference

Guided walks at Tarn Hows

At the heart of our work is a commitment to conservation and we are very grateful for the support we receive in donations and from our members.

Everyone can help.

We use your car parking payments and donations, to protect the woodland, water and nature at Tarn Hows, and to help make it accessible for everyone. It is important members scan their membership card when they visit, as the benefit is directed to our work at Tarn Hows.

Visitors can help us save time and money by taking their rubbish home to be recycled, and we couldn’t keep special places special without our wonderful volunteers.

Running guided walks, delivering craft days, conducting research and the more hands on work such as repairing dry stone walls – just a few examples of the wide and varied opportunities to volunteer with the National Trust.  As well as making new friends, you can learn new skills and help us continue to look after the Lake District for everyone, for now and for the future.
