The Blackwater bookshop helps to raise money for ongoing conservation projects all around The Argory. Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and generous donations from our visitors and the local community, the bookshop is full of fantastic titles in every genre you could imagine.
There's a wide range of books to suit everyone, pick up a novel to enjoy in the sun, get inspired by a travel guide, find new recipes in our cookery section, and take home some new bedtime stories for the kids.
The bookshop is managed by our volunteers and is open during our normal open times. There's usually a smiling face to welcome you in, and at times when there's nobody available to volunteer in the bookshop you are still more than welcome to browse, and we ask that you purchase the book in our gift shop.
Throughout the year the bookshop volunteers run two book fairs which are always greatly received by the local community and visitors. The first book fair of the year is on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March from 12noon-5pm. Sit back and relax in the courtyard and listen to some relaxing tunes from Ryan McGarrity on the Sunday.
If you're a bookworm and would like to join our bookshop volunteer team, get in touch with our Volunteer Development Officer, Chloe Dobson, via email or on 028 8778 9006 to find out more about getting involved at The Argory.
