NT Supporter groups at The Firs
Interested in making the most of the National Trust near you? Join a local supporter group to enjoy special interest talks, visits, holidays and other social and fundraising events or hands-on conservation activities
As a charity the National Trust relies on the generous support of the public but did you know that as well as supporting us through joining as members, visiting our properties or enjoying our tea rooms, you can also join one of the many regional support groups that exist? Regional support groups have helped National Trust properties up and down the country to fund projects that help move, teach and inspire our visitors, whilst offering their members exciting programmes of events, talks and away trips to other NT properties. Below are a list of our supporters here at The Firs, Elgar’s Birthplace.

Getting together with other Trust enthusiasts, members and volunteer card holders who feel passionate about the same things is priceless. Sharing unique experiences and finding out more about the places you care about is what being part of a local National Trust Centre or Association is all about. From listening to expert talks and going on behind-the-scenes tours to taking relaxing holidays, you’ll be part of something amazing. Our Centres and Associations promote our work within their local area and raise money for conservation and development projects through all kinds of events.
Be part of a National Trust volunteer group
If you can see yourself in the great outdoors (or sometimes the great indoors), building, creating and conserving – this could just be the perfect choice for you. As part of a group, you’ll help conserve our special places – both locally and further afield. You might be constructing a footpath, building a fence or helping to restore natural habitats on the coast, but whatever you’re doing, you’ll be in the company of a great bunch of people.
