For your last chance to see our rooftop walkway ascend to the site of a £5.4m roof project and see if Father Christmas has done his ‘recce’. In the house, you can experience a unique soundscape in the chapel. In the gardens, look out for wicker reindeer. This is a great chance to explore the wider estate on a winter woodland romp.

While you can, seize this opportunity to get behind the scenes of a £5.4m roof project on our rooftop walkway. In our daily Tag-a-Tile workshops, many of our visitors have been lending us a hand by writing secret messages on tiles destined for the new roof. To find out how they did this and how you can get involved read on:

In the chapel you can hear the sounds of a rare Tudor mass as King Henry VIII would have heard it during his stay in October 1535. This royal visit was argued to have altered the course of the Reformation. Read more about the house and chapel here:
