Help to polish the floor at Treasurer's House

Polishing the oak stairs at Nunnington Hall

Rather than do all their work behind closed doors, the conservation team invite you to come along and get involved.

Wednesday 6 September, 11am - 4pm

Head to the Tapestry Room

As wooden floors go, the adzed ripple effect is really special and the conservation team work hard throughout the year to look after it. Fancy giving us a helping hand? Drop in on your visit and spend as much or as little time as you wish, contributing to the care of Treasurer's House.

All materials are provided - including kneeling pads! And getting hands-on isn't compulsory if you prefer to chat to the conservation team then they'd love to answer your questions. Exactly how many times does a floor like this need polishing? How is it best to look after precious tapestries? Can't you open the blinds a little more? The team would love to talk about what they do and why.

On your visit, look out for the favourite parts of Treasurer's House from the team...
