A taste of Trengwainton

Bed of mixed coloured lettuces at Trengwainton, Cornwall

Here we talk in terms of food meters, not food miles, with ingredients taken from the walled kitchen garden when they’re available.

Light lunches

You can choose from soups, a selection of sandwiches on locally baked granary or white bread, ciabatta melts, omelettes, oven baked jacket potatoes and freshly made salads. There are also daily specials available.

Sweet treats

Every day there’s a selection of homemade cakes, but if you can’t decide on a favourite, you could try a ‘dainty cake selection plate’ or a full afternoon tea with cakes, scone and finger sandwiches. Of course a Cornish cream tea is a ‘must’ but for a change, why not try a savoury tea with cheese scones, cream cheese and chutney?

Picnic boxes for children

Children's menu

There’s a picnic box with a sandwich, fruit, shortbread and juice to eat in or take out; mini ciabatta melt, soup or staff can advise if there are smaller portions available from the daily specials board.
