Winter family fun at Uppark

A close-up photograph of a pair of wellies standing on frosty grass

Don your wellies, dress up warm and get a breath of fresh air this winter at Uppark. Families can run free in the south meadow and the woodland then explore our Victorian tunnels leading to the servants quarters.

Pick up a 50 Things booklet when you arrive and see what winter 'Things' you can tick off. Our woodland walk is perfect for a winter nature walk, while the south meadow is great  place to warm up with a running race or a spot of kite-flying.

Come and explore this winter

Uppark's small woodlands are close to the house and gardens, so easy to explore with little ones. Try building your own camp, or make some wild art with sticks and leaves. If you're very quiet you may spot some wildlife too - the woods are home to plenty of animals, including foxes and deer.

Don't forget to explore the underground tunnels leading to the Servants Quarters with plenty of things to look out for as you walk round.

Hunt a little further inside the house and you'll find a giant dolls' house. It's one of the best examples in the country and is over 250 years old. Everything in it is as lifelike as possible, from the hallmarked silver dishes on the dining room table, to the real miniature candles in their wall sconces.

Warm up in the café

Stop off in our café for a warming drink and a snack. Treat yourselves to a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows or even a babychino. Design your own lunch with our kids ‘pick and mix’ lunch boxes so you can eat exactly what you want.
