Looking to explore the Yorkshire Dales for a holiday? We’d recommend The Old Smithy tucked away in a peaceful corner of the tiny village of Buckden, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Or for large families or groups, try out Town Head Barn, our newly opened bunkbarn in Buckden.

Snug hideaway for two

The Old Smithy is a cosy single storey building nestling close to the tumbling stream of Buckden Beck. A snug hideaway for two, the cottage is a perfect base for a romantic getaway or for exploring this spectacular part of the Dales.
Especially popular with walkers, this is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the glorious surrounding countryside. Also nearby are the popular villages of Kettlewell, famed for the Calendar Girls film, and Grassington, well known for its summer festival and winter Dickensian weekends. This cottage also welcomes dogs to join you on your holiday.

The cottage's layout

Kitchen, sitting/dining room and double bedroom separated by a wall partition (some exposed stone walls and roof beams) and bathroom with shower over the bath, all located on the ground floor.
There is a small shrub area to the front of the cottage with patio seating area and car parking for one car.
