It’s a wonderful thing to escape into a book. You can create a whole made-to-measure world in your head from all the amazing journeys and stories you encounter between the pages. So whether that is built from fiction or factual guides we are sure to having something for you in our second hand bookshop.

The second hand bookshop is located next to the Squash Court. We regularly replenish the book shelves with a wide variety of titles and genres, so you can easily find something to suit your tastes and age range. We also have a wonderful collection of antique and unusual books for sale. Throughout the year we will run promotions on these antique and unusual volumes. We are launching a novel way of finding your next read this Valentine’s Day with ‘A Blind date with a book’. Read the descriptions on the front of the mystery gift wrapped book and choose the one that appeals to you the most. You might just discover a new love!

Make a donation

We gladly accept donations of second hand books. All money raised through sales in our bookshop goes directly towards the work we carry out here at Upton House. By donating your novels, cookbooks and annuals you could help us to plant bulbs in the garden, conserve a painting or keep our roof in good condition. Before delivering it is useful to let us know what you are donating and when you will be coming, so please give us a call on 01925 670266.

New Books

We also sell new books, alongside other items, in our gift shop. These are gardening books, cook books, children’s books and special National Trust titles.
