Sow the City’s course will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and tools you need to become a therapeutic facilitator. You'll learn how to create a safe and supportive environment, lead engaging and effective group discussions, and how to help participants develop valuable coping skills and insights. Our experienced trainers will guide you through a variety of hands-on exercises and interactive activities, teaching you the latest techniques and best practices for facilitating meaningful and impactful group experiences. Whether you're a seasoned therapist looking to expand your skillset or a newcomer to the field of horticultural therapy, this course is perfect for anyone who wants to make a difference in the lives of others.
The course will be delivered by Ciarán McLoughlin. Ciarán has experience of working with children, young people and adults affected by mental illness. He is the project manager for Manchester City Council’s community food growing network as well as Achieve, a social and therapeutic horticulture intervention supporting people in the early stages of addiction recovery.
Lunch is provided.
No prior experience of horticulture necessary.

Sow the City has been delivering horticultural therapy for Public Health and the NHS for almost 15 years. They are currently the lead for the NHS England Green Social Prescribing programme in Manchester and work on various other NHS and Population Health funded green wellbeing programmes across Greater Manchester
