Wild Food Foraging with Mat Follas

Do you know your hemlock from your hogweed? Join Mat Follas for a scenic walk to look at some of the seasonal plants around Eggardon Hill.

This is a lovely walk around Eggardon led by Mat Follas who will help us identify the seasonal plants growing here. The walk will be around 2 miles and will move at a slow but steady pace as we stop and talk about the plants we find as we walk.

We ask you to bring a large dose of curiosity as well as some sturdy footwear, and maybe a notepad and pen!

Meeting point

Please park your car in one of the lay bys close to Eggardon Hill. We will wait by the main field gate for you which leads down the track to Eggardon Hill. What3Words///defectors.lighters.large

What to bring and wear

Bring weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. There are no facilities so you are responsible for your own refreshments. Bring a notepad and pen if you want to record anything.

Accessibility

Eggardon Hill is very uneven and steep. The track to the hillfort can get muddy especially after rain. This walk is not considered suitable for dogs due to livestock.
