Community beech clearing days
Join us for a day in the woodlands helping us clear non native beech trees to help give our native trees a better chance to thrive.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Work alongside our rangers to learn a bit more about woodland management in Great Wood. Non native beech trees quickly out compete our local slower growing species, blocking saplings from much needed light. Clearing these young trees will help give the young oaks, which gave Derwent Water it's name, a chance to grow.
