Fell Foot Community Open Day
Get inspired and join us at Fell Foot for a community focussed day enjoying the outdoors and getting inspired with a whole range of activities, talks and films.

Come along to Fell Foot, a historic park on the shores of lake Windermere, and discover ways to connect with nature and boost your wellbeing. There will be collaborative and inclusive outdoor activities, with BSL interpreters available across the day.
Events happening on the day:
- At Active Base:
- 10.30 and 12:30: Kendal Mountain Festival Films - Special collection of adventure films championing access to the outdoors for all.
- 11.30: Angela White talk (AKA the Running Granny).
- 13:30: Steve Bateman talk.
- 14:30: Nick Wilson talk.
- 15:30: Cumbria Deaf Association - BSL for the outdoors workshop.
- Out in the parkland:
- 10:30 & 14:30: Active Cumbria Wellbeing Walk - Join a short, guided walk by trained walk leaders [For all - children must be accompanied].
- 10:30 & 13:30: Outdoor Evolve Yoga & Somatics - movement based session session.
- 13:00 & 15:30: Running Granny Community Run - led by Angela White.
- On the Lake:
- 10.30 & 12:00: Paddlers for Life Dragon Boat session - watch or join in with the local Breast Cancer survivor dragon boat team. Book ahead if you want to paddle (see separate event listing)
- 11:30 & 13:30: Anyone Can - accessible kayak Heritage tour on the water. Please book ahead (see separate event listing)
The community open day is delivered in partnership with; Active Cumbria; Age Friendly South Lakeland; Age UK South Lakeland; Cumbria Deaf Association; Sight Advice South Lakes; Paddlers for Life, Anyone Can & Stoked Watersports.

The event will be taking place in the grounds of the park. Our welcome team members will be on hand to greet you to Fell Foot.
- What to bring and wear
Comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear advised depending on activities you may wish to take part in.
- Accessibility
This event is intended to be as suitable for everyone as possible. Designated parking. Accessible toilets in main car park and at the Active Base. Changing Places facility. Wheelchair accessible pathway. Mountain trike available to hire free of charge. Level access to cafe and outdoor viewing platform. Grounds partly accessible, grass and loose gravel paths, steep slopes and undulating terrain.

Most events you can just turn up and have a go and you do not need to book ahead. The exceptions are the Anyone Can Heritage canoe tour and the Paddlers for Life dragon-boating. Anyone Can specialises in taking anyone out on the land and water, with and without a disability. This will be a heritage tour of Fell Foot with a twist, as we will be exploring its history from rafted Canoes.
