Pond dipping - family event

Part of the summer holiday Wilderness Wednesday series. An outdoor event for children to delve into the watery world of Kedleston. Find out what is living beneath the surface!

Come along and join in with our pond dipping session. Discover all sorts of wildlife that lives in our waterways and ponds. All equipment provided, plus a helping hand to identify the creatures that you find.

This event is suitable for 5 - 12 year olds. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Meeting point

Meet the ranger team at the gazebo on the edge of Cutler brook by the stepping stones. Buggy also available to transport families from the Visitor Reception building (meet 10 mins before for buggy.)

What to bring and wear

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather on the day and sturdy boots/shoes as the parkland can be rough in places. Wellington boots are recommended for pond dipping.

Accessibility

There is uneven ground. 15-20minute walk (approx 1km) from the car park to the event site. Buggy also available to transport families from the Visitor Reception building (meet 10 mins before for buggy.)
