Family Folklore Walk from Edale

Discover tales of local folklore and ancient history on this guided 8km circular walk of the Vale of Edale.

  • Booking essential

Starting in Edale, the route will follow the well-worn Coffin Road onto the Great Ridge and summit the ancient Mam Tor Hillfort. Returning via the sleepy hamlet of Barber Booth and the Pennine Way, your experienced guide will share stories of local legends, mythical creatures, and ancient histories.

The walk is approximately 8km and includes a steep ascent, steps, and follows an uneven footpath. Dogs on a short lead are welcome but there may be some stiles.

Our walk leaders are incredibly knowledgeable, so please ask as many questions about the area as you like!
