Alfriston Clergy House

A place for everyone

Over our history, and with your help, we've acquired a wide range of fascinating, and often surprising places that you can visit and enjoy. From the humble Alfriston Clergy House (our first house) to the grand houses of Edwardian socialites such as Polesden Lacey, by way of curious caves, countryside, lighthouses, pubs, beaches, abbeys and castles.

Coast & countryside

Fresh air and a gentle stroll is good for the soul, and when combined with stunning scenery, it becomes great. We care for hundreds of acres of countryside for you to explore by foot, bike, horse or even by kayak.

Discover the wealth of our collections - from the nation's largest collection of oil paintings, to an ever-changing programmed of exhibitions which showcases the work of international artists from home and abroad.
