Join this fun and relaxing one day workshop focused on exploring plant textures and the beauty of Cyanotype blue using fragrant flowers and plants from Petworth Pleasure Garden.
This workshop takes place on Sunday 27th April 10.30-4pm.
This workshop is beginner friendly, in a small and friendly group, during the day you'll learn the processes of the Cyanotype method with guided demonstration and hands on tuition from Sussex based artist Julia White and guest artist Cressida Murray.
Cyanotype is an ancient photographic printing process, and is characterized by a distinctive blue colour. The process includes treating a surface, often paper or fabric, with a salt solution which when reacts to UV light (sunlight) to create the negative image.
You should expect to experiment and come away with a series of prints, as well as the confidence and tools to carry on creating Cyanotypes at home.
All materials are included. Please refrain from bringing natural materials and foliage to the workshop, we have restrictions in place.
Hot drinks are provided, please bring a packed lunch.

- What to bring and wear
All materials are provided. We will be using chemicals which stain both hands and materials, please keep this in mind when preparing for the day.
