Remembrance at Tredegar House
A commemoration of the military past of the people who once lived and worked at Tredegar House.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
This autumn, as we commemorate the 170th anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade, step back in time to discover the story of Godfrey Morgan and his loyal war horse, Sir Briggs, who gallantly rode into battle during the Battle of Balaclava. To honour this anniversary, visit our stunning new creative installation in the stables – a breathtaking willow sculpture of Sir Briggs, draped in a veil of poppies, a poignant tribute to the bravery of all those who served. Learn about the young Captain of the 17th Lancers, just 23 years old at the time and who would later become the first Lord Tredegar. Join us in reflection as we explore how war and conflict shaped the lives of those at Tredegar House.
