Whether you are looking for a short stroll, or a proper hike, the area around Watersmeet cannot be beaten for its variety in trails and landscapes. From the stunning sea cliffs of Countisbury to the wooded East Lyn River there is something for everyone.

  1. Canoeing and fishing - Enjoy the challenges of the tumbling rocks and deep pools of the East Lyn river as it passes Watersmeet House. 

  2. Heavenly treats - a visit here is not complete without sampling a Watersmeet cream tea. Freshly baked everyday, and oozing with clotted cream and local jams it's the ultimate treat.

  3. Towering cliffs - Foreland Point and Countisbury are a 'must do' when you visit this part of Exmoor. Some of the highest sea cliffs in England, with stunning views to the east and west, they are great for a short walk from your car at Countisbury, or a longer walk along the South West Coast Path.

  4. Lynton and Lynmouth - Watersmeet sits in the heart of a beautiful area with lots to see and do. Your visit here would not be complete without stopping at Lynton and Lynmouth.

  6. Wildlife spotting - Look out for otters, red deer, buzzards, dippers, heron and a variety of flowers and insects. Spot the local Whortleberry which makes exceptionally good jam.
