Volunteering at Wenlock Edge
Join our team of dedicated and passionate volunteers based at Wenlock Edge. Our volunteers help conserve and enhance this important place for everyone to enjoy. We have volunteers in a number of roles undertaking a variety of tasks, from monitoring wildlife to habitat management. We are currently looking to recruit engagement volunteers to help us to share with our visitors why Wenlock Edge is special.
Help the ranger team to provide our visitors with experiences that move, teach and inspire.
You will support the ranger team to prepare for and help deliver events, guided walks, children’s activities and to develop interpretation. This role is quite flexible to suit your availability and interests, with activities taking place on weekends and in the week (activities tend to centre around the Spring and Summer, with the exception being our Halloween events).
You do not need any previous experience or knowledge of Wenlock Edge: you will be trained on the job. You just need to be friendly, enthusiastic and passionate about nature.
You will be our eyes and ears on site, will help maintain the beauty of Wenlock Edge and keep visitor facilities in great condition. You will be an invaluable source of information for visitors, making suggestions so they have a enjoyable day.
Tasks can be as varied as litter picking car parks and footpaths to walking footpaths reporting any issues back to the ranger team or even checking the health of the in-house flock of Hebridean sheep.
