Wimpole in the Spring
A time to see the changing seasons with daffodils beginning to emerge and the first glimpse of trees in bud.
Experience getting outdoors on spring walks and for the more energetic join in with our beginners running sessions or parkrun followed by a warming cup of hot chocolate in our restaurant.
Take a stroll through the Long Gallery and gaze at the Folly and Parterre from the Saloon. Climb the grand staircase and marvel at the Chancellor's Bedroom and unique plunge bath. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays chat to our book cleaning volunteers in the Red Room and find out a little more about our book collection and how we care for them.
In the Pleasure Grounds, West Garden and Old Rectory Garden the daffodils are coming into bloom in glorious yellow drifts. With many different varieties and differing shades of yellow, Elsie Bambridge's favourite flower is a real spring highlight at Wimpole.
See the pigs being fed daily and have a go at grooming the donkeys and learn about our rare breeds and why we keep them. Watch our farm team starting to prepare for lambing, and meet one of our Shire horses.
Stride out across the park and meander your way to the Gothic Folly or discover the woodland belts and wider farming countryside. With a guided walk on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays starting from the Stable Block at 11am there is always a new view to discover.
