Festive walks at Winkworth Arboretum

The view over Badger's Bowl and beyond on a frosty winter morning

When you've had your fill of Christmas leftovers and TV specials, get out into the fresh air and enjoy a festive walk with family and friends.

Nestled on a hillside in the heart of Surrey, Winkworth's wintry woodland is the perfect spot for a festive walk in the crisp, clean air. With a mixture of level walkways and more challenging slopes, there's a route for everyone; dogs are welcome, and a disabled car park at the bottom of the Arboretum provides access to the meadow and lakeside walk.

Fill your lungs with fresh air and enjoy the sights of the Arboretum: the Holly Walk and the Winter Garden are secret treasure troves of seasonal delights. Take a break at the boathouse for a stunning view of the lake as the trees shimmer in the clear water, and catch your breath on a carved wooden bench.

When you've finished your walk, pop into the tea-room near the kiosk for a warming drink and a slice of homemade cake, baked fresh daily. Indulge guilt-free, knowing every bite helps us preserve and protect Winkworth's historic landscape for years to come.
