If you enjoy live music or performance poetry, join us at Wordsworth House on Saturday 30 June, when poet William’s childhood home will be filled with the sounds of spirited voices.

The day of Cockermouth Live! events starts at 10.30am with a performance by Fain, a folk duo with a classical slant, made up of Anne-Marie Kerr and Ian Wright.

Community choir Sing Owt will be on at 11.30am – weather permitting, in the garden – and at 12.30pm, ukulele trio Hearts of Uke will take to the floor.

Incidental Ensemble, a classical group led by Bridget Hilton, will perform at 1.30pm, with folk and blues duo Red Sky on at 2.30pm.

Sea shanties and mystery

HMS Herdwick will be singing local folk and sea shanties at 3.30pm, and there will be a special mystery guest at 4.30pm.

The outspoken socialist, feminist performance poet Laura Taylor will take to the stage for the day’s final slot at 5.30pm.

Performances last around half an hour – and entry to the house will be free all day, so why not come along for some fabulous entertainment?
