If you're looking for somewhere exciting to get little legs exploring the outdoors, then Brimham is the natural playground that will get those wellies on. This is a special place with pathways to race down, amazing rock formations to scramble over and acres of wildlife-filled moorland to explore.
The rocks and paths can become slippery when wet. Always keep an eye on children, there are sudden drops and steep slopes across the site. If you're visiting Brimham Rocks to take part in activities such as rock climbing, please make sure you have someone with you and take extra care at height. If you need assistance, please call the emergency services (999) and ask for mountain rescue.

We'll be joined by Claro Orienteering who'll be on site to give instructions, advice and keep a tally of who is fastest when it comes to orienteering at Brimham Rocks.
Friday 30 May, 10.30am - 12.30pm and 1.30 - 3pm
Have you ever visited the pond at Brimham Rocks? Do you know what minibeasts might live there? Come and find out which creepy crawlies wiggle from pondweed on this pond dipping activity.

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June, 10am - 3pm
Calling all nature explorers, we're going looking for some bugs! Collect your spotter sheet from the car park to begin your search. Remember to return to the car park team to receive your official Bug Explorer stamp at the end.
Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June, 10am - 3pm
Can you spot what doesn't belong in nature? Hidden around Brimham's woods are objects that don't belong. Find them, remember them and report back to the car park team who will give you a stamp.
Brimham Rocks doesn't have a playground because we are nature's playground. With pathways to race down, amazing rock formations to scramble over and acres of wildlife-filled moorland to explore Brimham Rocks is the perfect place to get little legs in the outdoors.
Throughout the year we have a great list of activities perfect to get little ones exploring in nature, from crafting bird boxes to pond dipping and bug explorers to broom making.
Or, if you're looking for something a little quieter, pop to the second-hand bookshop to relax and read a book together.
Get outside, get active, discover hidden secrets, learn new skills and face stimulating challenges on an active outdoors adventure day with Live For Today. Book in advance onto a 2.5 hour session to have a go, perfect for children aged 8+. All activities will be led and guided by a Live for Today expert instructors. Sessions will run in April, May, June and September with two free tatster sessions during the summer holidays.
Climbing
Brimham's varied and dramatic natural landscape makes it the most diverse landscape in Yorkshire for climbing. If you've got the equipment and the enthusiasm, then come and have a go.
Orienteering
There is an orienteering course available all year round (whatever the weather) perfect for beginners, families, dog-walkers and school groups. Pick up a map from the visitor centre on arrival and start your adventure.
Geocaching
Join the international digital treasure hunt. There are geocaches hidden away around the rocks, moorland and woodland of Brimham Rocks. To get started download the geocaching app, sign up and get exploring.
Brimham Rocks is the picture perfect location for that instagrammable moment or TikTok Video. Don't forget to tag us in your pictures and videos, we love to see them.
When you’ve run off some energy it’s time to have a rest and recharge the batteries.
Head to the refreshment kiosk and pick up a light snack like one of our warming sausage rolls or pasties. Or bring a picnic and grab some hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams to top up.
