Dog-friendly places in Yorkshire

We love dogs in Yorkshire. Whether you're planning a day out at a historic house or in the countryside, you and your canine companion will receive a warm welcome at lots of places across the region. See more about the National Trust's paw rating scheme to help you plan your visit.

Places given a three paw rating are the most dog-friendly. Dogs can go in many areas, including indoors for tea and a treat. There’ll be clearly signed dog zones and dog-friendly experiences.

Hardcastle Crags

There are over 15 miles of footpaths to discover at Hardcastle Crags with your dog. Have a short stroll through the woodland or a challenging hike up the valley.

When a place has a two paw rating, it means dogs can go in some areas, but not everywhere. If there’s a food and drink outlet, you can have a cuppa with them, probably outside.
