The Watford and District Association was formed in 1981 and currently has more than 200 members from the Watford, Rickmansworth, Abbots and Kings Langley area.

Membership of the Watford and District Association is open to both members and non-members of the National Trust or holders of National Trust Volunteer Cards.

Our objectives are to actively promote the work of the National Trust locally, raising funds in its support, and arranging a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work.

Our membership enjoys a series of lecture evenings, social activities and regular escorted coach outings to National Trust properties and other places of interest. All of this helps to make involvement with the National Trust more enjoyable for our members and fosters an appreciation of the purposes of the National Trust.

What we do

The Watford and District Association offers lecture evenings at 8pm on the first Thursday of every month at the Stanborough Centre, St. Albans Road, Garston, Watford (a few hundred yards from the Dome Roundabout).

There is ample, well-lit parking at the Centre and a bus stop is right outside the entrance. The hall provides excellent facilities for over 100 people. There is normally a refreshment break and the meeting finishes about 10pm. We have a sales table where a variety of National Trust goods can be purchased or ordered.

Our volunteer committee also organises regular escorted coach outings to National Trust properties and other places of interest. We have pick-up points from both Rosslyn Road and outside the Essex Arms, Langley Way.

We also have occasional social activities, including supper quizzes and rambles, in our programme. Full details can be seen in our newsletter, which is produced four times a year.

Come and join in

We welcome new members. The annual subscription rate is £12 and £10 for each additional member of the household. Membership is renewable on 1st March each year.

You may join at one of the monthly lecture meetings or contact the membership secretary.
