Christmas markets have been loved by families since the late Middle Ages, and it’s a tradition that has been celebrated at our beautiful places for years.
For the ultimate Christmas shopping experience, pick up handmade crafts, delicious local food and extra-special gifts, sample mulled wine and mince pies and give the kids the chance to visit Santa in his grotto.
Escape the high street crowds and enjoy a festive day out for all the family at one of our Christmas markets:
Deck the hall and Christmas market, weekends from 24 November–16 December, 10am–4pm
Erddig’s Christmas market is not to be missed, with 30 traditional wooden chalets selling everything from Christmas crackers and hampers to traditional crafts and toys. The whole family can also enjoy the ‘Deck the hall’ event, with Christmas ‘below stairs’ brought to life in the house. Erddig’s servants will be preparing for Christmas, inviting you to help them make turkey stuffing, prepare traditional mincemeat and make the decorations. There is also Father Christmas in his grotto, music, reindeers and a magician to keep the kids entertained.
The restaurant will be serving hearty and warming festive fare, including mulled wine and hot chocolate to keep the chills away.

Christmas food and craft Market, 7-8 December, 10am–3pm
Get ready for Christmas at our impressive Gothic revival house, Tyntesfield. The upper courtyard at Home Farm turns into a hive of festive activity and colour with live music, as local food and craft producers set up their stalls and showcase their wares.

Make a weekend of it: There are three holiday cottages on the Tyntesfield estate including cosy Summerhouse Cottage which sleeps two in a woodland setting and the former chaplain’s pad, Chaplain’s House which has been sympathetically decorated to reflect its Victorian heyday. Next door to Chaplain’s House is Chaplain’s Lodge which was once home to the family butler, together the two houses can be rented for eleven people.
Yuletide market, 7-8 December, 12pm–5pm
Rowallane is offering you the chance to come along and enjoy the seasonal festive feeling and have a fun day out for the whole family. Soak up the Christmas atmosphere with craft and food stalls, Christmas trees and wreaths made by our gardening team. Plus lots of family festive fun, face-painting and you might even bump into Santa.

Christmas market and Santa’s grotto, 7-8, 14-15 December, 11am–3pm
Celebrate Christmas in the heart of London suburbia with a Christmas market, festive entertainment, delicious refreshments and Santa's grotto. When you step through the gates, you'll feel like you’re in the middle of the English countryside, surrounded by meadows, trees and a meandering river, perfect for a frosty walk before tucking into the treats on offer.
* This is a free event, but a small charge to visit Santa in his grotto.

Christmas craft fair, 8 December, 11am–4pm
Birling Gap is part of the world-famous Seven Sisters chalk cliffs and is a unique place for a Christmas market. Everyone can join in the fun with Santa in his grotto, face-painting, mulled wine and mince pies.
