Baddesley Clinton canal walk
Enjoy this gentle circular walk along country lanes, field paths and the Grand Union Canal. The scenic route takes in Baddesley Clinton, Rowington Church, Kingwood Junction and the Heart of England Way.

Start point
Baddesley Clinton, at the start of Church Walk, grid ref: SP201715
Step 1
The walk starts along Church Walk, opposite the entrance to visitor reception. Follow the path through the churchyard, go through the kissing gate and then through the metal horse gate on the right into a field.
Step 2
Walk along the edge of the field with the hedge on your left, through a gate into the next field and over a small wooden bridge. At a choice of two gates, take the left-hand one to walk up the field with the hedge on your right. Continue along this footpath until you reach the road. For the shorter walk turn right and follow this road past the cricket club and over a crossroads, until you reach a canal bridge. Join the canal towpath and turn right along it. Then pick up the directions from step 5.
Step 3
For the longer walk, turn briefly right along the road, and then take the lane on the left signed Queens Drive. At a T-junction turn left and follow the road into Rowington.
Step 4
At St Lawrence's church, take the lane on the right, signposted as a public footpath and bridleway, go over the canal bridge and join the towpath on the other side. With the canal on your right, walk back under the bridge and follow the towpath along the Grand Union Canal.
Step 5
Pass under Turner's Green Bridge (number 63) and continue along the towpath, with the canal on your right, until you reach Kingswood Junction. Where the Grand Union and Stratford canals meet, continue straight on over the bridge, in the direction for Birmingham until you reach bridge 65.
Step 6
Take the steps up to the road, turn right along the road, past the Navigation Inn, and take the footpath on the left signposted for the Heart of England Way.
Step 7
Follow this along a drive, through a stable yard, to the right of the building and across the fields to meet the drive at Baddesley Clinton.
Step 8
Turn right to make your way back to the car park and entrance to the property.
