Why I love Blickling - volunteer stories
Colin, Estate volunteer
Its just after 8 am and the air is frosty. Across the fields a low mist hangs. As we load the tractor and trailer our breath forms little clouds.
Shortly we leave Able Heath Farm.
As we pass along Silvergate Lane I scan the old roadside trees for a glimpse of one of the Little Owls that live there. Today they are not to be seen. It is most likely too cold for them today.
Anthea, House volunteer
Blickling Hall is an enigma – what stories over the centuries those terracotta bricks and the several houses which have stood within the moat could tell. Perhaps the house is now back to the dreams of the builders, sharing with visitors its beauty and heritage.
As a National Trust member, and a volunteer, you can get more from supporting our work by joining one of our local associations. Through an organised programme of talks, social events, outings and holidays you can make friends, learn more about our places and support our work.
Be part of an incredible team
Making new friends, working in amazing places and knowing that you're helping a great cause, just three fabulous reasons to volunteer with the National Trust.
