A volunteer garden guide having fun talking to visitors

Love it at Cherryburn? Why not volunteer?

If you live locally and enjoy spending time at Cherryburn, why not join our friendly, enthusiastic team and help us bring Thomas Bewick's story to life.

From recreating Bewick's artwork in the working print room, to sharing his stories with visitors, or helping in our cafe, shop and garden.

How to get involved

Choose from our key volunteer roles:

Print room volunteer

Print room volunteers offer an interactive experience for visitors by sharing their passion for printing. All we ask is for an interest in printing and we will give you the help you need to bring Bewick's story to life.

Gardening volunteer

Nurture the fruit growing in the orchard, assist in the wildlife garden and help us cut the grass on the tennis lawn, picnic area and paddock walk.

Visitor welcome & event volunteer

Visitor Experience Volunteers play an important part in caring for Cherryburn and welcoming visitors. They bring alive Cherryburn’s stories and share their enthusiasm and knowledge with others.

Wildlife conservation volunteer

Cherryburn's wildlife was the inspiration behind Bewick's work and is integral to Cherryburn today. Wildlife volunteers are just as passionate about nature and help identify & record wildlife plus maintain habitats.

Tea room & shop volunteer

Come along and help in our cafe and shop located in a traditional 19th-century farmhouse. Assist visitors in their experience by selling tea, cakes and a range of Bewick merchandise.
