Our estate is a very popular place for dog walking and you are welcome to bring your dog all year round. Dog waste bins can be found on the main woodland walk and by the main car park.

Livestock are grazing on the estate year-round so please keep your dog under close control when livestock are nearby.

Magnificent trees

Sweet Chestnut at Chirk Castle

Chirk Castle estate is a mixture of pasture and woodland and is 460 acres in size. It is a real haven for wildlife and a beautiful place to explore and spend time.

Most of the trees in our woodlands are broad-leafed trees and 70% of these are oak trees. We also have some amazing and truly unique veteran trees. We're part of the Veteran Tree Initiative, helping to conserve veteran trees.
