Grange Barn is often described as 'Cathedral like'. This beautiful timber framed barn was once owned by the Cistercian monks at Coggeshall Abbey. It would've been used to store and thresh the 'great tithes' of corn sheaves.

Grange Barn had been in decline for some time and was in danger of being demolished for new housing during the 1970s. The people of Coggeshall pulled together and campaigned to save and restore it. This took place in the 1980s and you can now see what the barn would have been like in its heyday...

His entire workshop was donated to us by his daughter Janet Saunders, including his tools and patterns.
