Habitat piles
Creature comforts
Habitat piles are made of waste cut down from trees, bushes and plants. The idea is to build and fill the habitat pile, then the fungi breaks down the waste.
In winter the habitat piles house animals and amphibians such as newts, frogs, toads and hedgehogs. Later in spring look out for birds such as robins and blackbirds who build their nests inside.
