Dinefwr Park
Explore Dinefwr Park, one of the most beautiful man-made landscapes in the British Isles. Born in the late 18th century, it's the creation of George Rice and his wife Cecil, with additions by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. Join the many visitors who've been inspired to paint and write about Dinefwr for centuries.

Newton House
Newton House
You can still find traces of the original Newton House, described in Tudor times when Dinefwr was seized by Henry VIII. The present building replaced it in the 1660s - some of the ceilings date from this period. The house was given a new look in the 1850s when it was given a Gothic facelift, then in fashion.

Dinefwr Castle
Dinefwr Castle
There are fabulous views from Dinefwr Castle. It was the capital of Deheubarth under Lord Rhys, a key figure in Welsh history. Although most of the castle walls were built by his descendants, Dinefwr has come to symbolise Welsh nationalism and pride.

Pick up a discovery pack and head off to have fun along our new boardwalk.
Dinefwr is one of Wales's newest National Nature Reserves. It's famous for its ancient woodland, White Park cattle and fallow deer. The boardwalk gives easy access to special areas of the parkland. If you're feeling more adventurous we've got special outdoor events throughout the year where you can have a go at den building, tree climbing, orienteering and geocaching.
Take a walk
Enjoy the magic of Dinefwr on one of our waymarked walks. Pick up a leaflet and follow the cattle, dragonfly, river or castle walks to explore different aspects of the parkland.
On two wheels
The drives and tracks at Dinefwr lend themselves to cycling. Enjoy the park from a different perspective, then explore some nearby mountain bike routes.

We've got great events going on all through the year. You could try wild camping, come for a dad's day out, or embark on one of our treasure trails? Whatever your interests, Dinefwr's the place for you.
