The Hall was remodelled in 1642 by James Murgatroyd, a local cloth merchant. For generations, the East Riddlesden Hall estate was a hive of farming activity; producing enough milk, cheese and bread to adequately supply the household and its workers.

The Great Barn is reputed to be one of the finest barns in northern England, measuring 120ft long by 40ft wide. The barn was originally constructed of wood, and was later clad in stone in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Why not take a look inside and discover more.

Our intimate gardens are the perfect place to relax and unwind. Within the grounds is a herb border which was traditionally used as the Hall’s medicine cabinet. The recently opened Riverside Walk offers you the opportunity to take a gentle stroll and look for a range of wildlife in and around the River Aire.

There's no need to go hungry during your visit. Our cosy tea-room offers a selection of drinks, light snacks and delicious cakes.
We source much of our food locally as well as using organic, Fairtrade and seasonal food wherever possible.
